They join Eric Domander - drums and back vocals, Doug Stevens - guitars and our new bassist Mike Mulhall.

L-R: Eric (drums)  Jeff (Vocals) Rick (keyboards)  Doug (guitars)

The full name of the band is  The Last Placid Days of Plenty and it is normally referred to as simply Plenty. The CD to be released is titled Headphone Gallery and was produced  under the watchful eye of Paul Gross (SAGA, Lee Aaron) and Terry Sawchuk (Our Lady Peace, Frozen Ghost, Mat Dusk)

"I am excited  to say this is a very cool line up of various talents and superb musicianship that has been brought together and will play Plenty material from the new album and a selection of updated songs from the wealth of CERAFIM archives" says Rick Kazmirchuk.

"In addition, I have never heard Jeff Morrison sing better and as strong, even with a lay-off from active singing for a few years. This project will rock and surprise a lot of people, especially with the new material that will be unveiled."

The CD has 10 tracks including one epic 19 minute track titled End Of An Era. As more information becomes available you will be able to follow updates at this site and the Plenty site which is nearing completion.  While we are under construction you can view what has been put up so far.

The musical style of Plenty has been shaped and influenced by Pink Floyd, Marillion, Genesis, SAGA and a touch of Deep Purple. It touches on progressive rock, hypnotic instrumentals, smooth soft jazz and powerful ballads.

Stay tuned for more information on Plenty and thanks for taking the time to check out CERAFIM. I hope you like what you hear.

    The CERAFIM Story

Originally formed in Toronto, Canada in 1986, the musical style of CERAFIM has been strongly influenced by the leading progressive rock artists of the 1970's and early 1980's with bands like Genesis, Yes, Saga, Marillion, Pink Floyd, Rush, Kansas, Toto and Dream Theater being listed among our favourite artists.

Always known for avoiding trends and following our own plans, CERAFIM has survived the fads of today's pop music by playing creative, dynamic, conceptual pieces, accentuated by "straight ahead" and complex arrangements. Our music is performed with honest passion and a high level of musicianship.

For those of you who are lured to the power of modern progressive rock - we salute you. For those of you who defy the latest craze, fads and trends of today's "pre-fabricated" music - we will provide you with our musical alternative.

We like to call our music a "sound for sore ears".

If you like what you hear, please tell your friends about CERAFIM and point them to our web site. Hey, buy some of our CD's while you're at it.

We welcome and appreciate your comments and feedback.

Background: Started playing piano at the age of 6 using only a folding cardboard keyboard cut out  for the first year which made it tough to develop any tonal abilities. Achieved Grade 7 with the Royal Conservatory of Music at the University of Toronto as an honour student. By the age of 14, started to write my own material as my friends were tired of listening to another "Bouree" or "Sonatina In C".

Joined my first band (Purple Haze) at 15 playing cover material and some original. Worked with numerous original bands over the years (Meshiana Wish, The Wish, Spinal Tramp, Media, NRG) still writing and performing original material and playing more cover material that was progressive-oriented along the lines of SAGA and Genesis.

In 1986 I joined CERAFIM and was the major contributor and influence to the writing of the band's music in the styles of progressive and contemporary rock. CERAFIM went on to record 4 well received CD's and is still musically active through Internet radio stations and is distributed internationally by a number of independent record labels.

In January of 2005 I ventured into a new musical partnership as keyboardist with the Canadian original progressive rock band THE LAST PLACID DAYS OF PLENTY.

In addition to piano, I studied the trumpet for 8 years throughout junior, senior and high school, playing in the orchestra, stage and jazz bands. I am a self-taught guitar player and fooled around on a drum kit my parents (silly fools) bought for me after much pleading.

My past influences include the following keyboardists: Keith Emerson, Tony Banks, Rick Wakeman, Jurgen Fritz, Rod Argent, Patrick Moraz, Jim Gilmour, Joe Vanelli and recently include Kevin Moore, John Beck and Jordan Rudess.

Most of my favourite bands include: Genesis, ELP, Dream Theater, Marillion, SAGA, Supertramp, Yes, Lake, Porcupine Tree,Triumvirate, Kansas, Gino Vanelli, Toto, Styx, Steely Dan, all the "Big Bands" from the 40's & 50s, Lucifer's Friend, The Beatles, all the Motown groups.

"My latest and most favourite prog recording that lives in my CD changer is from the band FROST* with the CD "Milliontown" released in 2006 - check out this amazing album on Youtube by Jem Godfrey. You will not be disappointed."
